Fringy Cone Bird Collar

This is the 4 th collar that I have ordered for my African Grey. The collars are well made and durable. I change and wash his collars often because he soils them with his fresh food.. I want him to have clean collats at all times. He still has the very first one that I ordered, and it is still doing its job.

Amazing thick and perfect for my rescue whom plucks and mutilates . He hasn’t plucked or mutilated since I got him Feb 14 but have in case he starts again as he decompresses and settles in. Beautifully made

It’s a great idea for a product but the material is so hard it gave my bird a raw spot so I had to take it off.

I have a 160g caique. Guidelines show 100-299g for size small and lists birds like starlings which are smaller than caiques. All listed as "small" examples.

Size small collar itself is slightly over 30g.

It is MASSIVE and super heavy. Need a really good pair of sharp scissors to make it usable and safe for smaller birds.

I would not recommend this product for birds under 200g.

Vet recommended for Green Cheek Conure who plucks discrete areas of her body. Weight is too much for her. Cant move, bumps into things, loses balance, and doesnt eat or do normal bird behavior wearing it. Draws more attention to preening and sensory stress. I dont like velcro, bird knows how to get it off and moleskin adds even more weight to an already bulky collar. Not hopeful this will be a solution for her. Trim to help it fit her. She fell over in it and I havent put it back on

Poor refund policy for collars specifically. Since theyre expensive its a huge loss if it doesn't work out or if one does work well its a big expense to continue buying new ones as they wear out. I wish I could spend what I spent on this collar on another Bird Supplies supplement instead.

Collar seems different than photo, fringy part doesnt have loft it lays flat

I hope this collar is more helpful to another bird. 2 stars it does stop mine reaching feathers but cant do anything in it
