Parrot Rescues and Adoption Programs
There are many reasons a parrot may need a new home or the support of a rescue organization. Parrots can live for many decades, and it is not unusual for them to outlive their owners. As people get older, experience changes in their health or living situation, or simply realize that their parrot may outlive them, they may need help planning for their bird's future. Other parrots come into rescue because their families can no longer care for them, or because they need a safe place to recover and find a new home.
If you are considering adopting a parrot, a rescue or sanctuary can also be a wonderful place to begin. Many rescued parrots are looking for experienced, loving homes, and adoption gives these birds a second chance.
