You may not be aware of it, but UVA-B Vitamin D3 is vital for life. It is involved in & supports nearly all biological cycles & processes.
Vitamin D is a powerful immune booster, lowering the risk of infection, and it’s produced by the body through exposure to UVA-B rays.
Did you know the liver metabolizes Vitamin D through skin cells? The cells make a protein called keratin found in feather follicles. Without Vitamin D birds can't regulate feather growth & molting.
Vitamin D helps the body synthesize minerals for bone health.
The UV index (UVI) measures the intensity of UVA-B produced by the sun or a UV bulb. The higher the UVI, the more intense the UVB radiation.
A UVI of less than 5 is considered bird-safe.
