What Size Fringy Cone Collar Does My Bird Need?

Choose your bird's collar size by weight in grams. Bird sizes vary, even within the same species. Weigh your bird for the most accurate starting point, then review the collar measurements below.

Step 1: Find Your Bird's Weight

Match your bird's weight in grams to the recommended Fringy Cone Collar size.

Important for small birds: The Fringy Cone is a reinforced, layered collar designed for birds that need more substantial protection against feather plucking or self-injury. Its thicker construction is too bulky for very small birds such as Budgies, Green-Cheek Conures, Lovebirds and Parrotlets. We do not offer an XS size in this style.
Between sizes? If your bird is near a weight boundary, review the collar dimensions before choosing. Weight is the starting point, but the collar must also fit your bird's neck and body proportions.

The Fringy Cone extends outward and downward from your bird's neck. Its layered fleece construction provides additional coverage. Use the diagram and measurements below to check the size.

Designed to be trimmed for a better fit. The Fringy Cone has reinforced seams around the neck opening and outer edge, allowing adjustments to the collar's coverage. The neck opening should allow room for normal crop expansion, and the collar should hang approximately to the bird's hip area without interfering with eating, climbing or balancing.
