My bird (Mav) is very happy with her new collar. She took to it very well. I am very pleased with the quality.
Thank you for all you do for us bird lovers.

Those collars work very good and I have a plastic one under that one. He really started to pluck when Covid came because I was nervous and T.C. Picked up on that so then it became a habit. He’s really looking good, but I ‘m afraid to take it off because I’m afraid he will start plucking again. Thank you for those collars! Joanne

well made, great design , sturdy, My macaw is 30 years old so I am still working with her . Right now I sit with her and I gently place it on her back. she doesn't like it however, I feel she will get use to it. It's time and patience.
I have a groomer that comes to my house and I might have her put the collar on . I'm not sure if this is a good thing to do or a bad thing to do.

I like this collar better than the hard type. I have to view your website for it to be longer.

Domino is more catlike than anything. We had tried a plastic cone before and that was pretty traumatic. He did have a bit of a freak out at first but now he is able to wear it without issue. I think the felt is a better choice for a bird than the plastic.

This is the third or fourth one I’ve bought. She doesn’t pluck all the time. But when she does I make her wear “the shirt” she tears all the frilly parts off. It keeps her busy and not plucking. Then all her feathers come back and she doesn’t have to wear it anymore

Excellent quality and perfect fit for my 12-year old female cockatiel.

Everything is wonderful! I ordered a size too small so ordered the next size up for our caique. I’ll donate the xs collar to Papayago Rescue House (the local shelter I volunteer for).
Looking forward to starting our workbook and hoping it helps our little one. His plucking is completely heartbreaking.

I like the personal attention Diane gives the customers

Well made product, however, Tango (my lovebird) had trouble walking with it even after trimming and adjustment. We cannot use it.

Bought a size large for my moluccan and she was able to somehow still pick. Bought an XL and put both on. Seems to be working now.

My bird itches due to a virus related issue and this collar works very well to stop him from mutilating himself when an itch flares up. It's nice, light, and safe for my little lovebird. Initially, I thought he would easily open up the velcro, but that has actually been much better than collars with snaps. Smart little guy has figured out a technique to remove snaps, so I added some "decoy" snaps to this collar for him to distract himself with.

My bird is very happy in his collar. It fits perfectly and is so much better than the plastic ones I was using.

The concept is fantastic, the Velcro is also really great because I've tried the slip on ones in the past and they didn't work for her. Unfortunately the small is much too small and the medium is much too big for my bird (a smaller golden Conure), but if it fit I think it would do the trick.

This is Mrs Miggins' (a U2) second collar. They are quite brilliant in helping stop feather plucking and allow regrowth. My only complaint is the cost of postage to the UK. Otherwise, delighted. Please add more colours...

My 19 year old Noble Macaw has been plucking since an Impacted Egg episode 10 years ago. Off and on she had to wear a plastic collar - my stress load affects her. The Fleece Collar is a nice change that she is getting used to. I put it on her Pet Stuffed Puppy for three days and let her search for normal treats by then under the collar flaps in a small recovery cage (after a bloody plucking episode). Now two days with collar in small cage, now back to her normal cage (with a half height adjustment) for a few weeks probably as company visits. Hope this works as she is already 'grooming the flaps".

Looks cool on my African grey

Good quality item. However, the recommended 8 inches for an african grey is far too small. Have now ordered the largest size,12 inches.

Perfect
We needed this after my Cockatoo broke her wing. While she had a cast I got the heavier leather lined collar. It fit and worked great. Unfortunately the wing repair did not work and we had to amputate the wing. The leather lined collar was a bit too heavy so I needed something lighter fast to protect the site. The collar worked perfectly and my 2 is doing well. She seems to like wearing the collar now.

Fleece velcro collar
The collar was perfect, and came as quickly as I ordered it. Our little Quaker did not like this around her neck, but not due to quality. This collar was great, allowed Bonsai to chew it constantly but did not degrade. Would purchase again if needed.

Working well
The collar works pretty well in prevent my Caique from reaching most of the areas he plucks. I did have to add a fringy neck collar to cover the areas this collar allow him to chew. I was a little disappointed the collar was not like the 1st collar pictured on the website with the cascade of more abundant and narrower strips of fleece which the bird could strip mimicing preening. I solved this issue my cutting the sections into narrower stips. My Caique does in fact preen them like they are feathers and is much more accepting of the collar as a result

A Life Saver!
I needed a collar asap, as my bird had broke a blood feather on her wing and then started to mutilate the area. After a quick visit to the vet, she recommended a collar. This collar was suggested in a FB bird group I belong to. I ordered it with expedited shipping and it came right on time. It fits perfectly and is incredibly sturdy. While my B&G hates it (we had no time to train for her to get used to it), it did its job. I would highly recommend this collar!

Love bird loves her collar

Umbrella Cockatoo
We are traveling with our UC for the Summer. We've had our little girl since she was a baby and is now 30. Plucking has always been an issue as we were both working and she was alone. I have tried everything for 30 yrs to manage the plucking. Nothing has really worked until the velcro collar. I was frustrated during our travel and started researching collars when I found Bird Supplies. I called and spoke with Deb about my situation. Her recommendation was the Velcro collar so I ordered one of those and the Closed collar as well. Because we are traveling receiving orders can be a challenge. I explained the situation to Deb and she had my order in the the mail that day. I couldn't believe how fast they came, thank you so much. Angel has taken to the collar with no issues and it is peace of mind for me. She is still managing
to pluck in some areas but no where near as much. Thank you again for coming up with a solution that works and is comfortable as well.

Contented Goffin
We put the collar on Rosebud this morning and she seems to have adapted well. We have used many of the veterinarian collars and bands which seem terribly uncomfortable and she lashes out at me when she gets the opportunity. She is quite calm and I am very impressed. I am hopeful this will cease the plucking so she can grow in new feathers by winter.
Thank you for this wonderful accessory!

Velcro Closure Collar
This works well for keeping our Citron from picking, but he is able to start opening the Velcro, we had to put a small binder clip on at the top of it, to hold it closed. Since the pieces are like triangles to make it round, there is only a small amount of velcro holding the top closed. You need to figure out away to close up the top with a stronger hold then it has right now, but otherwise I love this. It did take him a little bit to figure out how to manuver with it on, but now he is hanging of the side of the cage playing with his toys, like it isn't even there.

The collar is very great quality; it’s very well made and durable. I had to trim the collar around the neck area because it was too tight for my lovebird. The outside part needed trimmed as well, as it was too long for my lovebird to be able to move around. It does seem to prevent her from plucking at the top of her wing, however she can still reach the bottom part and is still picking. She also figured out how to loosen it during the day when I’m not home, so she’s started pulling the feathers on her chest out.. So, I’m still playing around with the best fit, but overall, I’m happy with the quality of the collar. She’s tried chewing it apart and she hasn’t been able to do that at least! Fingers crossed she slows down on the picking soon.

Finally A Great Collar
Wish this collar was available years ago. Much cheaper than Vet bills! My cockatoo loves it!

UnRuffled RX Fleece Bird Collar/Velcro Closure
Our Umbrella Cockatoo is a moderate plucker. When we discovered the Fleece Collar with the soft leather, it was a blessing. Our bird went from almost bald to having feather growth within a matter of weeks. While successful, the collar is heavy around her neck; so when we saw that a fleece collar with velcro was available, we immediately tried one. What a difference!!! Our little girl now has much more freedom of movement, and there is no change in her chewing on the collar instead of her feathers. I would highly recommend this collar, and will continue to use it on our bird.

Getting Bird to wear it
Beautifully made and designed. I am just starting to adjust the neck closure so that I don't feel I am choking the bird. I can't tell whether I have tightened it too much. If it is too loose, the bird can grab the flaps and chew holes in it. So I have to experiment with the velcro and how much to close it. I am also giving her (palm oil, avicalm, bee pollen,) !She hasn't improved her plucking, except I notice with the avicalm she does not become frenetic. So I am in the experimental stage. I will probably be the one to end up wearing the collar!

Good product
Too lite a material for what I needed. Anything other than this one would have been great. This bird ripped it up in 1 day.

Awesome collar
I am extremely happy with my first collar. Going to order a second one. Feathers are growing back. It has been a long hard road, but with this collar I see so much improvement. Highly recommend this for feather plucking birds

Takes time, but working
Products such as this are not available in New Zealand so had to order overseas. Bird Supplies were extremely helpful in ordering and then how to use the collar. Because Piki is a Rainbow Lorikeet even the small collar was a bit too large for him. But on advise collar was trimmed and had to add a small piece of velcro so he couldn't pull the collar off. He's getting use to it slowly by using treats, but a slow go because of his very independent temperament. The extra service after purchase was excellent. Will definitely work with Bird Supplies again.

The Feather Saver
I've been using these for a while now and I have found for my bird to use the fleece only collar during the regular part of the year. This is light enough for maximum mobility. My female blue throated macaw has adapted exceptionally well with this type. When it's her mating season though, I switch to the fleece with leather collar for additional protection. If I don't have anything on. Within a day her chest would be bare. I love them.
Only complaint is Velcro MUST be quadruple stitched as all birds know where the entry/exit point is. They eventually destroy the Velcro to shreds.

It is a lot better than the plastic one that we got from the vet.

Collar is being used on Cockatiel before and after surgery to remove preening gland. Surgery was successful and he continues to wear collar to avoid picking at stitches . Is able to navigate cage as well. Vet liked the collar (it fit better than another soft collar). My cockatiel even flies short distances with it on. BTW, he is 24 and appears to be going strong even after surgery.

My 32 year old Panama Amazon began suffering from anxiety after a part of his cage he's been in for over 15 years had to be suddenly replaced. Because we couldn't slowly transition him into his new home, he became a very bad mutilator and was inconsolable. Researching online for ways to help him brought me to birdsupplies.com, and I am so glad these are available. Albert adores his collars and treats the fleece as his own feathers, with no more anxiety(in fact he's very protective of it!) I preen him myself weekly and give him his bathes to help where he can't reach. This is his 3rd collar, and I will always come here for replacements! I am so relieved and thankful these exist, and Albert thanks birdsupplies.com too! His little buddy playing peek-a-boo in the picture also approves! I highly recommend this product to anyone who has a bird with anxiety and plucking/mutilation!

My goffin cockatoo is not trying to take it off like the hard plastic collars so I love it!!!

I'm still getting my Boris used to seeing the collar before I put it on him. He is starting to touch it, so hopefully I'll be able to put it on him.

My little African gray is smaller than most. She is resisting the collar. It is a last resort and perhaps it is too late. I am using Avi-Calm and Featherrific in conjunction with the collar. She is most agitated late in the afternoon, so I am using it then She resists it and tries with all her little might to get it off of her. I am patient and hope in time she will get used to it and tell her how pretty she is with it on. I had to trim it quite a bit since she is so small. But it took the trimming well.

My Female Eclectus (Ruby) has been picking her feathers since about 2006. I have tried many different types of collars. This is the first collar that has worked. Ruby is finally getting some feathers in. I would recommend the UnRuffled Rx collar to anyone who has a feather picker.

I think my cockatoo likes it.... she seems pretty proud of it and she holds still while I put it on her after her bath. Who knew? maybe she thinks it's clothes and she's more of a person. ha

This bird collar has SAVED my bird, Mango, from his terrible picking habits. He picks so much that he has begun to cut himself. This collar helps his cuts to heal and keeps my bird safe!! It is SO soft and SO much better than a hard collar that the vet tries to put on him. I trimmed it a bit around the circumference to make it smaller for my tiny lovebird and it fits very nicely.
Trudy B.
Frizbee tolerated the collar very well. I had been using a plastic collar, so this is much more comfortable for her. I think she's relieved. The color was a little short, so I am ordering a larger size.

Rather then use the neck collar, which my Grey really hates, I use 2 collars one with velcro and one without. I cut off the fringe on the velcro one and put that on first, then I put on the one with no velcro but still having the fringe. She hasn't been able to get to her chest feathers or under her wings and is almost done growing in her new feathers!
cheryl r.
She's eaten three of these so far - but it totally keeps her busy and she can't reach her body to do more damage. She is snuggly in it like she has on her own fluffy blanket. She doesn't fight me for the on and off - I think because it's comfortable unlike the plastic ones.
