For Mild Feather Plucking:
Note: Colors may vary from those shown and may change seasonally. This collar comes in one solid color.
We recommend that you contact your Avian Vet for a full examination to determine the potential cause of your bird's feather plucking behavior. In addition, to protect your bird from plucking feathers use a soft bird collar.
A bird collar alone will NOT resolve a plucking problem. By the time most caretakers make the choice to use a bird collar, the problem has likely turned into a habit. You are encouraged to combine the use of a bird collar with calming supplements, wellness strategies, improved parrot husbandry, resolution of medical problems and behavior modification.
Since even individual species may vary in size, all sizes are approximate, Click here to measure your bird. Please check with your avian veterinarian to uncover the actual causes of feather plucking and self-mutilation. Always use the Tube Collar Neckband under supervision until you know that your bird tolerates it well.
The Soft Tube Collar Neckband is flexible and designed for sensitive birds with mild plucking problems or an entry-level collar to get your bird used to wearing a parrot neck collar. It is not for severe feather plucking or self-mutilation.
Had to return for smaller size. Awaiting there delivery. Love all their supplies, support is great.
I am returning collar will replace with the fleece one which I have bought 7 so far, great benefit for my Cockatoo. After I moved food dishes up higher, he was able to eat with it on.
I put the collar on and the cape at the same time but my macaw of course hated it and had a tough time standing. I took the cape off and just left the collar on but the next morning he had removed it. So afar I have not put it back on but it appears he is not pulling his feathers again..maybe the threat alone was enough. We will see. I do want to address the great customer service I received from this company. The box came in from the post office damaged and missing parts and immmeciately the owner showed her deep concern and made everything right with me. I love this customer service result and am still going to use this collar if he starts to pull his feathers again..i may just have to do it more slowly as is suggested.
So far working great on my cockatoo.
