Product Questions

We can't make treatment recommendations, but a clean bird may itch less. If you think that your bird is scratching due to mites, contact your vet. Mites can be miserable and they spread easily.

My bird is still scratching; and still screams. But not as much as before. I have used this product for a week now. This prodoct may not have been the right choice, but only time will tell. I have confidence this will help her.

JJ -
Our itchy bird kit addresses the problem for both a nutritional angle and a comfort angle. From the nutritional standpoint, it takes 3-6 months to build the nutritional reserves back up. However, if you don't see results soon please consider taking your bird to the vet - as unbearable itching is a symptom of fatty liver disease.

Timmy had an injury that required stitches across his tail underside (4.5 to 5 years ago). The stitches caused problems with the quill routes, per vet. Since then he has had a lot of pain with tail feathers coming in too many at once. He bites his tail feathers; if it's a blood feather I have to pull it. I've contacted many places for help. One in Oakley, CA who is very, very busy. I've used cbd cream for the pain - against my vets advice. Timmy gets infrared every day to the underside of his tail. I calm him with Reiki and soft talking under a small blanket. I don't know how long his tail feathers will continue to come in. He bites them off each time they start growing in. Or he just bites them til they bleed. He's a Timneh, so they are that beautiful burgundy color. He flies in the house; quite well, even without the tail feathers. I wanted to try the oral and spray supplements first; but, am now aware he needs a collar. We're waiting for a recommendation about a collar for him. He plays and sings, dances and cuddles frequently. He plucks under wings, back of neck (the worst), legs and chest. The plucking varies in intensity. He does Not like the sprays. Will probably do better with sprays in time.
