Plucking feathers out from under the wings is often associated with a more compulsive plucking habit and may require a more robust bird collar. This is especially true in cases where the skin is raw and bloody. When first introducing your bird to a bird collar, please consider the following:
- ✔ Your bird will have to get used to the feel of the fabric laying against its feathers.
- ✔ The bird may experience an emotional reaction when denied access to its preferred plucking location. Combine collars with behavior modification for best results.
- ✔ Supervise your bird to insure it is tolerating the bird collar and encourage your bird to eat, drink and climb. Please monitor your birds weight.
- ✔ We recommend training for acceptance for 5-7 days (instructions included.)
