Collar
Great collar . Concept is good but my African grey had is completely picked apart in 2 days . The Velcro holds well but she shredded it. At least for 2days she wasn’t feather plucking. Wish the collar had a pluck proof material

bird collar
first collar that she did not try to destroy and remove

More Velcro
Bought this and the unruffled collar at same time knowing my bird...she's a feisty one! This ruffled style worked better but she gets it off after a few hours. Should've named the bird Houdini!
It could use a larger velcro patch than the tiny square spot provided to close the loop for a more secure fit.

Great for chest or patagium wounds/incisions
A nice, soft collar for birds to prevent mutilation of chest. The velcro makes it nice for owners to be able to remove the collar at home for preening.

Great Collar
I have two problem children one is a Scarlet macaw and the other is a Mollucan. I tried this color on my scarlet first and she was able to remove it so I then put it on my Mollucan who is been wearing a vest for approximately three years now and I’m delighted to say that his body can breathe again because of this collar. He has not tried to pick at his chest since putting it on. Highly recommend!

Works Well but Needed Additional Collar for My Caique
This collar work great for the areas of the body it restricts access to. My Caigue is a more extreme plucker so I needed the additon of the UnRuffledRx Fleece Parrot Collar, Velcro Closure to cover the areas the Fringy Collar allowed access to

Not as good as I had hoped
I bought this collar to give my bird a little more freedom to move around while wearing it however, she was able to turn the collar around and pick at the Velcro. Once she gets ahold of the velcro she destroys it. On other collars that we purchased (from this company), she did the same thing, but we were able to tape the collar. and continue to use it, but those collars hindered her getting around the cage or play perch. With this collar, it can not be taped - the pieces don't overlap enough to tape it. If your bird does not pick at the velcro, this would be a great collar. If your bird is obsessed with getting the collar off, this would not be a good choice. It only lasted less than a day and then it was no good.

This is a great product..exactly what i was looking for..i had previously purchased the poncho cuff neck but had many difficulties taking it off to give him a break..i was also using cotton a-shirts cut into long bandage style pieces to protect his neck and back using tape to close it..worked for a while but then it would loosen up! with that being said this neck collar has worked out great and the wound is healing nicely with the exception that parrots are very smart..he has managed to scratch his back. Overall i give it a 5 star- also used the honey med..great product!

Off to a great start.....
My grey is doing well with this collar so far. He is suspicious of new things, so I took a week to let him get used to seeing before putting it on his neck. He has not been able to remove it and it is preventing him from plucking.

I have a small Senegal. This is the only collar I've found that allows her to get around, that she cannot get off and that takes her more of time to demolish. She can still reach her feet and tail but it takes more effort so she does less damage. A little bit wider skirt might help that.

The items I purchased were perfect and fit my parrot just right. With anything new, my parrot takes a while to get used to it. The products were very well made and delivery was very timely. I have not used this company before but am very pleased and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I bought this in hopes my bird Meya could not reach her upper chest. It started out great; the stiffness was still soft and the fringe distracted her... but she can now after she chewed the fringe down and time passed which made the neck more flexible. She is really determined so I don't blame this on this high quality product. She wears a chest guard too with a large leather patch. She stretches her neck down the top of the chest guard to get underneath it with the collar on and has a wound the size of a quarter of her chest.
It may be helpful if this collar came with some stiff material in the front that was long enough to drapr the top of the chest.
I just went on the website and found something new to try: Fringy bird collar!

Not good cause he can still reach the back of his leg where his sore is

Purdy is learning to wear her “flower”. It fits well and prohibits her from getting her wing feathers. We are still working on her wearing it for several hours a day.

My congo is a very bad picker. Ever since his cage mate was killed a dog , he started picking first he hid it from me. Until he flapped his wings and oh my gosh he was shredding his skin so I ordered a fleece slip on collar. The collar helped but the gap between the collar was too tempting. So Congo started to go after his neck and his Brest bone also he figured out how to roll up the fleece to get under his wings . In time he also began to chew a hole through the four layers of fleece. So i decided to go a little tougher with his protection. So I ordered another slip on fleece collar, a stiff leather and fleece collar , and a parrot tube stiff collar 2 inch. As a bonus I received a fringy tube collar for providing a review. The 2 inch collar is a bit big when adding in the other two collars but the fringy collar fit nice like a turtleneck restricts access to his neck but for my Congo I wouldn’t use it by itself! Without the stiff leather and fleece or at minimum the soft fleece collar. Congo can still reach himself but I find the fringy collar an indispensable part of his healing with the three collars used together he absolutely cannot touch himself! He does need assistance for feeding time but seems to be the best solution I have found and I would absolutely recommend the fringy collar!
