Let's face it. If you're a bird owner, your pet is going to have an open wound at some point. It might be from a fight with another bird or it might be from a toe that got caught in the cage. Our plastic bird collar is ideal for open wounds and post-surgery recovery because of its stiff polyethylene flanges out to protect your bird letting wounds heal naturally.

These stiff, plastic bird collars are an excellent choice for short-term wear like recovering from an injury or surgery. They are also appropriate for birds that compulsively self-harm. The clear design lets you can monitor your bird's progress.

Worried about your feathered friend? These collars are designed to be tough for your bird to chew up or remove. They provide a layer of protection, allowing wounds to heal without any hassle. A helpful tip: some birds tend to chew on the neck foam, but attaching moleskin is a great solution. It adds a cozy layer, keeping their necks safe and comfortable.

PLEASE NOTE: We suggest sizes, but please be aware that individual birds may vary considerably in size and you will need to adjust accordingly. Please measure your parrot's neck for complete accuracy.

Size Guide

Since individual birds vary in size, even within species, the most important thing you can do to make sure you order the right size is to measure your bird using these instructions.

Use a soft fabric measuring tape. Measure all the way around the birds neck, full circle. Then, measure down your birds back, from nape if neck to top of tail.

What our customers say about this bird collar

Colleen

Vet Recommended

These collars are great for feather plucking and mutilation. They are lightweight and easily tolerated by the bird. My parrot can do everything that she normally would do with this collar on. This collar was recommended by my avian vet and it weighs less than half of what the fabric type collars weigh.

My second purchase. I tried a different one from birdsupply, a soft one, before this, and while both are well made, none lasted longer than 2-3 days. My parrot is severe macaw.

use it on our moluccan cockatoo who like to chew on herself. We have used SEVERAL brands and designs. This is close to impossible for her to get to her wounds. Her spot was on her back, a tail amputation helped with that but now it is on her chest. She cant get around it due to the ridged construction. We have a light cloth one underneath so she can see that and know where it is, we thought keeping it clear might mess with her. this works for us.
