    • NOW with strong DuraGrip® Hook & Loop Closure

Our Fringy Soft Neck Collar gives thicker, stiffer protection for neck, wing and leg pluckers.  These thick Soft Neck  Collars for parrots feature a bird-safe stiffener sandwiched between two layers of fleece.  On top, eight layers of fluffy fleece obstruct the birds' access wounds below the neckline.

Stack this Fringy Parrot Soft Neck Collar with our basic bird collars for added protection. May be used on top of a cone bird collar or underneath it to keep the fabric from irritating chest & wing wounds.

Our Fringy Soft Neck Collar was developed for severe pluckers and mutilators. The height and thickness of our Fringy Neck Collar combined with a stiffener insert restrict neck movement making it harder for your bird to get to its extremities.  You may have to remove the collar during feeding time.

Note: Colors may vary from those shown and may change seasonally.

We recommend that you contact your Avian Vet for a full examination to determine the potential cause of your bird's feather plucking behavior. In addition, to protect your bird from plucking feathers use a soft bird collar.

A bird collar alone will NOT resolve a plucking problem. By the time most caretakers make the choice to use a bird collar, the problem has likely turned into a habit.  You are encouraged to combine the use of a bird collar with calming supplements, wellness strategies, improved parrot husbandry, resolution of medical problems and behavior modification.

Please check with your avian veterinarian to uncover the actual causes of feather plucking and self-mutilation.  Always use the Soft Neck Collar Neckband under supervision until you know that your bird tolerates it well. The Soft Neck Collar is flexible and designed for sensitive birds with mild plucking problems.

More Velcro

Bought this and the unruffled collar at same time knowing my bird...she's a feisty one! This ruffled style worked better but she gets it off after a few hours. Should've named the bird Houdini!
It could use a larger velcro patch than the tiny square spot provided to close the loop for a more secure fit.

Great for chest or patagium wounds/incisions

A nice, soft collar for birds to prevent mutilation of chest. The velcro makes it nice for owners to be able to remove the collar at home for preening.

Great Collar

I have two problem children one is a Scarlet macaw and the other is a Mollucan. I tried this color on my scarlet first and she was able to remove it so I then put it on my Mollucan who is been wearing a vest for approximately three years now and I’m delighted to say that his body can breathe again because of this collar. He has not tried to pick at his chest since putting it on. Highly recommend!

Works Well but Needed Additional Collar for My Caique

This collar work great for the areas of the body it restricts access to. My Caigue is a more extreme plucker so I needed the additon of the UnRuffledRx Fleece Parrot Collar, Velcro Closure to cover the areas the Fringy Collar allowed access to

Thanks for the feedback. Our customers with extreme pluckers have to get innovative and often resort to stacking collars. Keep in mind that extreme pluckers often require several strategies to address their plucking, including calming supplements and behavior modification.

Not as good as I had hoped

I bought this collar to give my bird a little more freedom to move around while wearing it however, she was able to turn the collar around and pick at the Velcro. Once she gets ahold of the velcro she destroys it. On other collars that we purchased (from this company), she did the same thing, but we were able to tape the collar. and continue to use it, but those collars hindered her getting around the cage or play perch. With this collar, it can not be taped - the pieces don't overlap enough to tape it. If your bird does not pick at the velcro, this would be a great collar. If your bird is obsessed with getting the collar off, this would not be a good choice. It only lasted less than a day and then it was no good.
